At Univerx we build co-browsing, one-click video calls and smart routing for sales and support teams. Describing a screen over the phone is the slowest part of both jobs, so we built a way to just look at it together.
Our customers work in finance, insurance, healthcare, energy and the public sector. They see 35% higher conversion, 60% faster resolution and 45% fewer support tickets once the agent and the customer share the same screen.
We are a small, ambitious team that values curiosity, ownership and collaboration. We move quickly, ask for feedback early, and care about the details. If that sounds like how you work, we would like to hear from you.
The Role
As a Backend Engineer, you'll build the services behind sessions, routing and analytics. Reliability and correctness are the job: a dropped session is a lost customer conversation.
You'll design APIs that product teams enjoy using and that hold up under a security review.
What You'll Do
- Design, build and operate the APIs behind sessions, queues and routing.
- Model session and account data with correctness and auditability in mind.
- Integrate securely with CRM and helpdesk platforms.
- Instrument services with logging, metrics and alerting.
- Write tests and run reviews that keep regressions out of production.
- Improve the performance and cost of the systems you own.
- Document interfaces so other teams can build without asking.
Requirements
- 4+ years of backend engineering experience.
- Strong skills in a server language such as Go, Python, TypeScript or Java.
- Solid relational database and schema design experience.
- Understanding of authentication, authorisation and data protection.
- Experience running services in production, including on-call.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
- Care for clear, reviewable code and honest post-incident writing.
